Kendriya Vidyalaya was started in the year 2007 in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh with an aim to cater to the educational needs of all the priority categories of employees working in Kadapa.
It started functioning from April 2007 under the chairmanship of the District Collector, Cuddapah district. The Vidyalaya Management committee has been constituted and approved by K.V.S. The then District Collector Sri. M.T. Krishna Babu IAS, Cuddapah took keen interest in the starting, functioning and growth of the K.V. To start the Vidyalaya, a rent free accommodation has been provided by the district administration with 15 rooms for classes I-VI in the premises of Old Government Hospital Campus Kadapa. The campus is located in the centre of the town (near 7 roads circle) accessible to all prime point.
Subsequently, under the sponsorship of the State government of A.P. in the year 2010, the construction of its own building was started. M/s HSCL, Kolkata/Gulbarga has been entrusted with the job. It has completed the construction in 2014. The structure is very spacious and can accommodate 2 sections up to class XII. The school has started functioning from 1.4.2014 in the new campus/ building.
